Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) is implementing a
National Long-Term Contraception Method ( LTM ) is considered far more
effective in reducing birth rates through the use of contraceptive implants to
be featured in supporting family planning programs .
One way is to use
implants . Implants are well known in Indonesia since the 1980s . Implant is
currently undergoing development that is more practical , and the failure rate
is much lower than other contraceptives that were well above one percent .
In support of
family planning programs in Indonesia , will be held advocacy , capacity
building programs for medical personnel , the provision of quality
contraceptive products include implants , as well as outreach to the community
about the importance of contraceptive use in achieving higher quality and
family welfare.
Achievement of this
goal would reduce the death rate of
200,000 women due to pregnancy and childbirth and reducing three million newborn deaths, "said Chris Tan.
